For patients missing multiple teeth, chances are, you’re looking for a solution that restores your smile and prevents tooth loss from affecting the rest of your mouth and jawbone. When replacing multiple teeth, there are various options that can be utilized, depending on the location of the missing teeth.

For a sequence of consecutive missing teeth, an implant-supported bridge can be used to fill the gap. For multiple areas of missing teeth, single implants can be installed in the location to fill the space left behind. Whatever your unique needs are, we’ve got you covered! Contact our office today to learn more about what option will work for you!

How Will the Implants Be Placed?

For patients missing multiple consecutive teeth, the process will usually require two implants on each side of the tooth gap to secure the bridge into place.

Titanium screws will be implanted into the jawbone during the surgical procedure. Upon healing, an abutment will be connected to the screws, giving the bridge a secure connection to the implant. A custom-created bridge will be made to fit the area precisely; a bridge is a dental appliance that is basically multiple dental crowns that have been fused together to act as artificial teeth. With two of the outer crowns attached to the implant, the teeth in between will serve a cosmetic and functional purpose for filling the empty space.

For single dental implants, the same process will be followed aside from the placement of the bridge. Instead of having a bridge attached to the teeth, a single crown will be secured to the abutment instead.
